The Medina Clinic has partnered with our local Quest Diagnostics centers to provide affordable, convenient and accessible laboratory testing for the patients in our service area.

  • Who can order eLabs?
    • Currently, eLabs are only being offered in the state of Missouri. Addresses outside MO will not be able to complete their orders online, these individuals may stop by our physical office to get their labs ordered instead. Visit The Medina Clinic's website for our office location.
  • Where do I go to get my labs done?
    • Once you have printed the eLab requisition, make sure you take it with you to your nearest testing center. You may find a listing of all the testing centers by clicking here.
  • Do I need to schedule an appointment for labwork? If so, how do I schedule one?
    • No. All Quest Diagnostics centers operate on a walk-in basis in addition to scheduled appointments. It may be a good idea to schedule an appointment however, since you are more likely to be seen sooner that way. Click here to schedule an appointment at a location near you.
  • Should I fast before taking the test?
    • It depends on the test. It is recommended that you avoid food and liquids for a minimum of 8-12 hours when testing for glucose, cholesterol, and triglycerides. Water or black coffee is permitted during your fast. If fasting is required for your test, it will be noted in the 'Special Preparation' comment at the bottom of each test description.
  • Do the eLab requisitions expire?
    • The eLab requisitions expire 90 days after order date. You may use them whenever it is most convenient for you within those 90 days.
  • Do I need to give any instructions to the lab testing center?
    • No, all instructions for the testing center are listed on your eLab Order. This includes letting the lab know that you have already paid and what labs they need to order. Although already mentioned on your eLab Order, you may want to remind them to send a copy of your results to you as well.
  • Who will be sending my results?
    • Once your tests are completed, the testing lab will mail you a copy of your results. You should expect to receive an envelope from "Quest Diagnostics" with a "Confidential Information" label on it addressed to you.
  • When do I get my lab results back?
    • Most lab results will be sent to you by mail within 1-10 days of getting your lab test done, although there are a few exceptions that can take up to a month.
  • It has been over a month and I have not received my results yet, what shall I do?
    • It is Quest Diagnostic centers' responsibility to mail your lab results to you in a timely manner. If you do not receive lab results within 4 weeks of getting tested, make sure that the mailing address that you used to have results sent is correct. If it is correct and up-to-date, it is possible that they have missed the note on your eLab order to send you a copy of the results. Feel free to contact the testing center that obtained your lab work to request your results. If you are unable to obtain your results by contacting them, feel free to contact us using our online contact form to resolve this issue. We receive copies of all the eLabs results and will gladly send you a copy in the mail.
  • Will I be able to understand my results? What if I need to discuss them further?
    • Yes. All test results include the normal reference ranges, with abnormalities indicated. Abnormalities should be considered an early warning, but do not necessarily mean you have an illness or disease. We recommend you discuss your results with a health care provider, especially if they are outside the normal ranges. To do so in an affordable way, you may either visit us in-office or schedule an online 'eClinic' appointment with us via webcam by clicking here. All in- office visits are $15 and eClinic visits only $10.
  • What if I would like to order a test you do not offer?
    • We will be continuously expanding our list of eLabs offered, based on demand. If you would like to see a particular lab, drop us a message through our contact form and we'll begin negotiations with our lab partners to be able to offer it at an affordable price to you. New labs will be available in order of highest requests.
  • Can I re-use my eLab Order more than once within the 90 days before it expires?
    • No. You may only use your eLab Order ONCE after you have made a purchase since you are only paying the price for ONE testing order. The testing center is also notified to use your eLab Order only once.
As mentioned in our Legal Disclaimer, any re-use, duplication, fabrication or manipulation of the eLab Order in any way is strictly prohibited and will be considered fraud, and legal action may be taken.
  • Are these tests covered by my insurance company?
    • No. eLabs is for informational purposes only and no specific medical advice, ICD-9 codes, Tax ID's or CPT codes will be provided. When you purchase a blood test from us, you are doing so with the understanding that you are privately paying for these tests.
